Large difference between WiFi Speed and Direct Link speed

My speed with a direct connection is 200+mps and about 40-50 through wireless connection. The unit is at least 5 years old. Is a newer version of this model needed? I have not updated the firmware. Should I reset the unit and strt from scratch? And yes, I am not modem savvy.

Time Warner/ Spectrum also approves the C6300. is it better to upgrade?

You are most likely limited by 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Interference.

If you are thinking to upgrade, you can either get Combo Gateway or even save $$ by converting this device to "bridge mode" (Modem only) and then attaching a router behind. Make sure you to get Dual-Band router (2GHz and 5GHz WIFI built-in). Something like R6400, R7000P, etc.

Note: if you upgrade your speeds further, you may need to upgrade your modem to something like CM600, CM700, etc
