Router channel hogger

I've been having problems with my wifi randomly disconnecting once or twice a week. This started about 3 months ago. Periodically, I change the channel to one that seems least used. When all this trouble started happening I decided to check the channels, and one place is taking up all of the channel space now. All I know is it says the Floyd, and it has up to seven or more different ssids that it says are merged. There are literally no channels that they are not using.

Could this be the cause of my Wi-Fi disconnecting? I never had this problem before "The Floyd" showed up. Can I find out who they are? I think they have a different ISP than I do. Can I rename my SSID to something like the "Floyd sucks"? Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? They must live pretty close, because their signal is very strong almost as strong as mine. Would changing my router help at all? I think it's very unfair that one place is hogging all of the channels, but what do I know?

I apologize if this is not the correct place to post this problem but I don't know where else to turn. Thank you so much for any advice or information.

    What router do you have?

    What firmware is on it?

What modem/gateway is it connected to?

Do all devices drop/have issues or just wireless device? (do wired devices)

You can change your ssid if you'd like.

How do I change my NETGEAR router password or network name (SSID)? | Answer | NETGEAR Support

It isn't going to help but it might let them know you're frustrated.

I take it you're seeing the ssid on a wireless scanner?

it could be that they have a mesh system so they have mutliple nodes broadcasting.

      Thank you for answering.

The router is NETGEAR R6300 v2
      The modem is NETGEAR CM500
I don't know how to tell what firmware is on it.
The only devices I use are my phone 95% of the time and my laptop maybe 5%. I guess my Smart TV must use Wi-Fi too, and it's on probably 50% of the time. That doesn't add up to 100%, but what I meant was most of the time it's my phone, some of the time it's the TV and the phone, and rarely is it the laptop. I don't use the wired part for anything.
Yes, I can see what channels are being used with some Wi-Fi apps.
I think it might be the house across the street, because it's a huge antebellum mansion. But it's been there since I moved in this house 25 years ago, and I've never had this problem until 3 months ago.
"The Floyd" has been there in the past, but they only took up a couple of channels not every single one of them.
There's probably nothing I can do, but thanks for trying to help.

You can try moving the channels to the least congested and see if that helps.
make sure any of your devices that can use 5ghz are on the 5ghz. It doesn't broadcast as far and is much faster so it suffers from less interference
