do you need a modem/router for att fiber optic internet
We just had att u-verse fiber optic 100 speed internet installed in our house. We use to have cox cable 150 internet, which I had a Arris surboard sb6183 for a modem and Netgear R6300 wifi router. This worked great! The Att router is junk and the wifi is weak at 30-40 ft away. Do I need a specific new router or will my old one work with the fiber optic? Or would it be worth it to get a wifi extener? Any help will be appreciated!

Re: do you need a modem/router for att fiber optic internet
your old one should work you can either set the ATT modem/router to modem only or set the R6300 in Ap mode and connect it via ethernet to the ATT modem.
