vpn service

i have the c3700 combo unit and i have been talking to a ipcamera guy on his forum and he tells me to disable the forwarded ports i have for my cameras. but his instructions he gave me are not working for this c3700 unit. i went to advanced and settings and no vpn section. so does this usnit offer a vpn setup? if so how do i set this up? if not what model of combo units would i look for to get the vpn service and set it up. thanks

VPN features and services are mostly kept and seen on dedicated routers. Routers with out a built in modem.

so tell me do the modems need the vpn if they are only for routers? everyone tells me not to forward my ip camera ports but i can't see them when gone . but then others tell me the reason i can't see my cameras is because i do not the ports forwarded. so i change the port numbers for most all my cameras. but the onvif cameras i have will not let me port forward them or will they let me change the username or passwrods. so they are about useless for security form the internet.

on the ip camera forum fenderman tells me i have to get a free vpn. i sadi i was paying for one he said they have them for free on routers and modems. if i understood him correctly.  and guys on that site said the asus modems ahve the free vpn service and the netgear should also have it.  thanks
