2 Netgear modem/routers, 1 network.
Ok, I have a CAX80 nighthawk and a C7000v2. Following YouTube I cannot put these on 1 network. Mainly because of the password reset loop. But before that I was in and out of crappy firmware
Also, it's like I have trouble logging into 2 different M/R combos. Do both have to be registered thru Xfinity/netgear? C7000v2 is just an extender basically. At wits end.

Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.
What is Double NAT? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
It is often easier to use just one router and then to set up the second router as a wifi access point. Netgear advises this, as does just about every site you will visit. The problem for you is that most cable modem/routers do not have a built in AP mode.I see no sign that these exist on the CAX80 and C7000v.
There may be workarounds out there, but anything you find on YouTube is probably about routers and/or DSL modem/routers which do have an AP mode.
Finally, this isn't the right place to ask for local advice. While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Cable Modems & Routers- IanhicksAspirantThat's exactly what I'm trying to do. Use the other M/R as an access point.
Being this was a Netgear community. I figured this would be the first place to look.
Especially since I'm stuck in the GD reset password loop. Which I've tried on chromo, edge, and Firefox.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
If you have the CAX80 as your main ISP modem, you can use the C series modem as a wired AP if you set the modems router IP address to say 192.168.1.70, set up the wifi on this modem and then shut OFF the DHCP server under Advanced tab/Setup/LAN setup.
You'll need to set the channels on both of the modems to FAR apart channels, CAX80 try 1 and 40 and the C7000 to 11 and 149
Then ethernet connect one of the LAN ports on the C series modem to one of the LAN ports on the back of the CAX80.
