CG3000Dv2 wifi 20% the speed of ethernet

Hi everyone

I have the issue as  MayBTime2Change

I have a N450 CG3000Dv2 and my internet service plan is for up to 100mbps.

Plugged directly into the ethernet port I realize the full 100mbps.

Connected to wifi sitting right beside the router, I only get around 20mbps. This is the case for multiple wireless devices.

I configured the Wireless Network  802.11 mode to be "Up to 450 mbps".

Any additional steps I should take?

450Mbps is a connection rate between the modems wifi and a wifi device. Not actual speed thruput or bandswidth.

Depending upon your wireless devices support and design will factor in what actual speeds you may see.

Hi and thanks for the reply

I should have specified that all my wireless devices, of various types, are experiencing the 20mbps bandwidth. So it seems that the router is reducing the wifi speed available for some reason.

I would expect wifi to be slower than a direct ethernet connection, but 80% slower seems excessive.

The modem and wifi on this modem are a bit older. You may want to consider getting into a new gateway modem or a modem only and then attach on external wifi router of your choice for better wifi performance.
