Connectivity to Xbox live Nighthawk X6 8000

I play on the Xbox and my buddy plays on windows 10 (crossplay). We can'talk seem to play anything other than Horde on GOW4. He called his ISP and they couldn't help him because they couldn't connect to his router (which isn't from their company Verizon Fios). I am wondering if there is an encryption that he needs to change? And if there are other people with this issue?

    The thing is, the nighthawk is connected as the modem. Not a modem connected with it. So will it still work going through these steps regardless? Also it is the Xbox live on the pc not the console. Is it different?

      Yes you still would want to port forward and you may need to check xbox support site to see if the ports are different for the PC version.
