Downstream LED flashing green

For the past few weeks I've been having issues with my wifi cable modem router. Both the 2.4 and 5 GHz will download at extremely low speeds. For the past few days the Downstream LED light has been flashing green. All other lights are solid green. I checked all of the connections and tried restarting the router several times with no luck. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

  • This evening the light stopped blinking out of nowhere and the wifi is working normally. I have no clue why this corrected itself after a few weeks if not working correctly.

    Hello ATVrider

What is the model of cable modem that you have?

  • It is the Netgear Nighthawk c7000 cable modem router. I purchased it in April 2016 but didn't start having been problems until recently. Today I reset it to factory setting and the light is still flashing.
  • Also, thank you for replying. Hopefully I can find a solution before just replacing it.

  • The issue cam back the next morning. The green downstream led light is now flashing again.

      Hello ATVrider

You may want to get your ISP to check out this issue as a blinking downstream light indicates that the modem can not lock onto a connection.
