ProSecure UTM9S

Hi,

 

I am currently in the process of ugrading the firmware on our 2 ProSecure Firewalls.

 

Before i can upgrade the firewall interface informs me i have to have a Support & Maintainace subscription before i can upgrade.

 

When i attemt to register the product the the MyNetgear website i get a invalid manfatuing date message and a message saying the product serial number is already registered.

 

Is it possible to upgrade teh frimware on these products without a subscription and if not how can i sucessfully register these products to my account?

    Hello kristopherd1, 

     

    Welcome to the community! 

     

    The support for NETGEAR UTM products will be EOL (End of life) on 12/31/2016 so the sales for subscriptions for this model  has been stopped, you can get more information here. However, the maintenance license now is already given for free, you should be able to pull a maintenance license and then you can update. Can you PM me your serial number so I can check the registration?

      HI John,

       

      The serials are as follows;

       

      2JL21CB700324

      2JL21CB300312

       

      The units may be registered to an employee that no longer works for us.

      If this is the case can the products be registered to a diffrent account?

        Hi kristopherd1,

         

        On behalf of JohnRo, I have checked both serial numbers of your UTM9s.  It shows "No Assigned License" on each and the status of both units says "trial."  

         

        If you are the owner of both UTM9s and you want it both be registered under your name,  kindly contact NETGEAR Support then submit the Proof of Purchase or Sales Invoice of both UTM9s for verification.  It is recommended that the devices should be registered to the owner.

  • The problem is that these never had a Support and Maint agreement installed.

     

    Since that is the case, there is no way for the end user to get the free Support and Maint license to install.

     

    You will need to convince Netgear Support to install the license manually in the system.

     

    - This used to work, but not sure if it still does: Have Netgear support remove the "Trial" registration in the system.  Register the Trial again and it should automatically load the Support and Maint license in there.  If it doesn't hit Retrieve to load them again.

     

    You can still buy the licenses but you should not have to since Netgear said they would be free until the UTM's go EOL.
