Nighthawk M1 – Extremely High Data Usage (120 MB Minimum Amount of Data Used Per Connection!)

Hi,

Is anyone aware of a solution to reduce the amount of data used per connection on the Nighthawk M1?

In reading – and looking at my data logs – the Nighthawk M1 uses a minimum amount of data per connection of 120 MB!

This chews through data fast!

Much faster than when using a non-Nighthawk M1 modem.

Many others have found the same thing:

Love to hear if anyone has a solution to this – as my 160GB per month Telstra 4G data sim plan using Nighthawk M1 is getting chewed up super fast with nominal use (compared with previously never coming close to the monthly limit, with the same usage patterns).

We would suggest contacting your carrier and request to perform a billing investigation. This should tell us where the charges are coming from.

Thanks for your reply.

I already have the billing data from my Carrier showing the multitude of 120 MB blocks used per session (along with their session duration).

The data file is attached (PDF format), ordered by descending Usage (and personally identifiable information removed).
