6 Bay ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition compatible drives

I am looking at expanding the 6 Bay ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition that I have and looking at the drive compatibility the Seagate NAS HDD ST4000VN000 is listed but that is an old drive that is quite expensive.  There is a much newer Seagate IronWolf ST4000VN008, is this compatable with the my 6 Bay ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition?

Netgear stopped updating the HCL for the legacy NAS a long time ago, so it is no longer useful as a guide.

The newer IronWolf will also work.  Note that many larger disks now use "alternative mount points" - in that case you won't be able to use all the mount points.

If your pro-6 is running OS 4.2, there are two expansion limits-

    • you can not expand over a 16 TiB volume size.
    • you can not expand more than 8 TiB from the starting volume size.
