My ReadyNAS does not show up as a Network Computer
Can someone tell me if the ReadyNAS is supposed to show up as a Network Computer? I can mount it as a Network Drive but no matter what setting I have tried it will not show up as a Network attached c...

Please have a quick (if you can) look at https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/windows-not-showing-ReadyNAS-name-in-network/m-p/945867.
Although the solution MAY not apply to you, there are lots of pointers and ideas in it.
I am not saying it will give you the solution (although it might), but we don't want to reinvent the wheel again, do we?
Regards and good luck on your quest.
Good night.

Hi BaJohn,
Sorry I guess I should've mentioned that I am currently running Windows 10.
Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

Just to say StephenB is one of the experts on the ReadyNAS, whereas I still consider myself as inexperienced.
I threw my info 'into the pot' to reduce your expectations on what to achieve.
Windows 10 (which I like ... although I loved Windows 7) does seem to be slightly 'chaotic' on the network front.
I have noticed that other items in the 'network folder' seem to disappear and reappear on a not to irregular basis.
My printers (both WiFi) in particular are prone to being displayed differently at different times.
My answer might lay with the WiFi router (Netgear) and my bad local network (LAN) and the terrible clash
I have with the over 20 local networks all competing for air time.
I think that if you get the NAS showing in at least one of the categories that is an achievement, and don't fret
too much over the others if other links and access to the NAS are working.

Just to add .... and I do not claim any credit for it, but it is quick and MAY work for you on Windows 10.
Try this:-
Right click start menu and choose "Control Panel", then "Programs"
Under 'Programs and Features' select "Turn Windows features on or off" (this requires admin rights)
If "SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support" is not enabled, enable it and reboot.Let us know if this helpd:)

I've spent two hours trying every trick listed here...the ReadyNAS Duo v2 has never showed up in Win10 networks using a Microsoft login (ie most of them). The one machine with a local account can see the NAS in Network just fine.
Thanks to this thread I noticed the NAS does appear in Network Locations under This PC in Win Explorer... so I can access it in Windows, it's just clunky. The big problem is I cannot access This PC when using the file dialog in Lightroom, a common photography app. So the main storage for all my image files is inaccessible from my main machine! I got around this before by having legacy mapped drives. Unfortunately with a recent rebuild, I've lost these and cannot reestablish them.
HELP!
Win10 64 bit , have tried adding Windows Credentials for both admin account and new user account. Typing \\[ReadyNAS] into Win Explorer or a browser simply opens RAIDiator. Ditto entering the IP address.
OlympusNAS Duo v2 running RAIDiator 5.3.11
RAIDar sees the NAS fine
Thanks chaps. To save time, if there isn't an obvious solution, I'd rather bin the unit and get a certified Win10 compatible one, and transfer the data so I can access it.

Hi BAJohn,
Thanks for the suggestion. I looked under Programs and Features and "SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support" was already checked off and installed. So I unchecked, restared, then rechecked and restarted again but still no ReadyNAS under Network computers.
Was a great idea. I may try installing the insider build (using one of the Mods suggestions above) on an old PC and seeing if that PC can see the drive. I'll let everyone know-here if it works.
Thanks everyone!
