ReadyNAS 104 Slow file transfer and access
For the last 2 days I'm having problems with my READYNAS 104 v6.10.10 which has 4 x 2Tb drives in. I cannot access the admin page via 192.168.1.2 which sticks at the splash screen. I can see all th...

I have finally managed to get into the admin page. I can select between the various menu options but no matter which option I select nothing opens so can't view the shares, settings or logs etc, just a wheel turning in centre of screen

Is ssh enabled on the NAS?

I don't know what ssh is.
The Nas has worked perfectly for years until this problem started in the last couple of days without me changing anything on it

ssh allows you to connect to the NAS and run linux commands directly. If enabled, it would have given us a way to see what the NAS was actually doing.
As it stands, I think the best approach is to leave the NAS running for a while, and hope that the issue resolves. Then get the log zip, and try to figure out what happened.

My guess is that the problem is related to one of the disks.

How could I confirm that? If I took the drives out one by one to see if the Admin page became accessible or take them all out and just see if that works.

Yes, you can move your drives to a more powerful ReadyNAS. But, since they are no longer made, it would have to be used. Any that run OS6, including upgraded legacy models, will work.
But that may or may not fully fix your problem. Sudden slowdowns are often a result of a drive that has gone bad, in which case you would be getting a lot of read errors and RAID is working overtime. On a RAM and CPU limited NAS like the 104, that's an even bigger problem than on more powerful units.
Another possibility is that the NAS is running a maintenance task like a scrub. Have you enabled any? Do you hear a lot of disk thrashing?
