Reset password
Hi. I have big problem, I need to reset my password without to delete my data. Unfortunately I did not setup password recovery.
I got IP address from my router.
My readynas 214, OS 6.10.7
Thanks

You can do an OS reinstall from the boot menu. See pages 58-59 here: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-100/ReadyNAS_%20OS6_Desktop_HM_EN.pdf
Be careful NOT to do the Factory Default (which will delete your data).
The OS reinstall will
- reset the NAS admin password to password.
- reset the network configuration to DHCP/no bonding (which is the default)
- turn off volume quota (which can be turned on again from the volume settings wheel).
Data is preserved.
FWIW, you could tape the NAS admin password on the inside of the NAS door. Though it makes security folks cringe, anyone with physical access to the NAS (e.g., thief) can also do the OS reinstall, so they can access your data anyway. So personally I don't see much risk in doing this.
