  • I have purchased four of the 5N4A1AS-RK boxes from Fry's and all four contained the 542AS drive.

I just bought a 5N4A1AS-RK box from Best Buy last week and it also had the 542AS drive in it. $99 on sale and I am looking at getting either a diskless Duo or NV+ and throwing that drive in it to start, then adding another drive each pay period. If I can only afford the Duo, I suppose I'll be stuck with RAID 1 but I will be done in a couple of weeks. :)
  • I purchased the retail kit just now, listed in best buy as ST320005NA1AS-RK for $69.99 and got a ST2000DL003.
No problem there..... And it's fully supported in the compatibility list.
