USB3 - 316 -Seagate USB drives stopping
So Been trying to troubleshoot this problem with USB3 drives stopping on the web interface.. during a backup etc.
It was formatted in EXT3
After testing the drive for 3 days using seatools.. it is fine no issue.. I formatted it in NTFS using my system and put in back in the NAS, it copied 89gb and failed again.. and then reports the drive is being removed and plugged back in again.
This is from the logs:
dmesg:
7407040
usb 5-1: reset SuperSpeed USB device number 8 using xhci_hcd
usb 5-1: Parent hub missing LPM exit latency info. Power management will be impacted.

We run 5 of the 31x type of NASs most of them are fine, on usb3 .. we are running all seagate usb drives..
Here are more details regarding the type of disk:

--- So plugged it in to USB2 on the front port:
usb 5-1: USB disconnect, device number 8
usb 1-3: new high-speed USB device number 3 using ehci_hcd
scsi16 : usb-storage 1-3:1.0
scsi 16:0:0:0: Direct-Access Seagate GoFlex Desk 0D19 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5
sd 16:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg4 type 0

Drive works fine now.. but only works at usb2 speeds.
Does any one know of a fix for the power issues on usb3?
Thanks 🙂
