Also i cannot create a new share on the drive, so it seems that the system isnt seeing the drive correctly

This question "Can you still access the NAS web ui?"
Yes i said that in my original post, however when i open 192.168.0.235\admin i get the error DEVICE IS OFF LINE
Yet i can still browse the various menus such as configure etc BTW it is the V2 version

If i restart the NAS this is shown in the logs
