EX3700 no connection to internet

We are using the Modell EX3700!

We installed the range extender, followed instructions by using the web browser set-up (as our router doesn't support WPS set-up).

All steps were followed through on www.mywifiext.net, the device controller on the extender gave us the signal that the connection to internet had been installed. The extender was placed appropriately to another place. When trying to connect to the new SSID via laptop or mobile, we are receiving no internet connection. We repeated the whole installation process again, by resetting the extender and following through the web-browser set-u process. This time the device LED shows only a few seconds of connection between device, then it turns off when sitting directly next to it or orange, when far away with device  which shall become connected.

Please give support, on how to deal with the problem.

What color is the router link LED in the new location?

It's possible that you put the extender too far from the router.  It normally needs to be placed somewhere in between the router and the dead spot, as it needs a solid connection to both areas.

Unfortunately it makes no difference, if the extender is quite near (30 cm) or in the next room, the router link LED is out. It shows only for a few seconds while starting the connection process a green light, then it went out and stayed like this.

You could try resetting the extender with a paperclip, and repeating the setup procedure.

If this doesn't help, and is a new purchase, you could either exchange it for a new extender, or contact Netgear support via my.netgear.com.
