EX6100 takes down BT Hub 5

I have been using the Extender to provide internet access to my smart TV via ethernet cable and also to extend WiFi signal into the garden. This has worked fine for over a year when sudenly my broadband connection crashed. Having had BT engineers in to check everything I eventually discovered that when i disconnected the extender my broadband came back. I have since reset it, updated the firmware, reset my Hub, but nothing works. As soon as the extender establishes a connection the broadband goes down. The Hub 5 cycles continuously through every colour trying to reconnect. I dont know what has caused this or how to cure it. Is the extender faulty or is it the hub or have some settings changed? Any help would be very much appreciated!

    Hello ENsa53

It could be either the extender or the router try changing the wireless channel on the router see if it will still crash. You also may want to setup the extender again by doing a factory reset.

      Thanks DarrenM

If I understand correctly my BT Hub channel is set on automatic so should change itself if problems are detected or Hub is reset. I have also read that the hub will reboot if problems are detected and that is probably what is happening. I had already tried a factory reset of the extender and Hub to no avail. However in the mean time BT have sent me a replacement router, this also crashed at first but then I seperated the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels on the router by assighning seperate SSIDs, reset the extender again and 'voila' everything started working. It has been working for over 12Hrs now but still not really sure what caused it, possibly a faulty router, but not totally convinced. Thanks again for your help.
