No internet Connection

Hi,

I try to Setup rh wn1000rp with a speedport v701 dsl Router. Using the wizard works fine and a _ext Network is set up which i can connect to.

Unfortunately i cant connect to the internet,Most probably because the ip settings dont match...

Dsl Router:
Ip 192.168.2.1
Subnet 255.255.255.0

Repeater:
Ip 192.168.1.250
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway: empty
Dns: empty

Any ideas how to fix this? Setting the ip of the repeater to 192.168.2.2 and Inserting ip of the Router as Gateway and dns Leads to the problem that i cant connect any more..

Thanks for your help!

Don

Ps: Excuse the Typos.german iPad with autocorrection..:(

  • I bought a Universal WiFi Range Extender (WN3000RP) yesterday and have the same problem as above now. My router is ADSL2 + Wireless VoIP Router (RTA1046vw). Very disapportment with this product!
  • go in to Wireless Settings under Security Options you should see WEP select that and in
    Key 1:

put your wifi password.that should fix it

  • NETGEAR is aware of this and will fix it in the later firmware.

I had the same problem where my wireless clients could not access Internet through WN1000RP.

The initial setup was successful - the extender was able to connect to my router under WPA(TKIP) and WPA2(AES) mixed security mode. My wireless clients were able to connect to the WN1000RP. They just could not go to Internet. Three LEDs on WN1000RP were on in green.

I tried to login to the WN1000RP's GUI at www.mywifiext.net, from the Status page I found the same invalid Gateway & DNS addresses as described in the first post:

    Ip 192.168.1.250
    Subnet 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 0.0.0.0
    Dns: 0.0.0.0

I contacted NETGEAR Support and they said this is an known issue. They provided me a beta firmware that addressed my issue. I guess there should be a new official WN1000RP firmware coming soon.
