WN3000RP : network invisible when using a "n" (not b/g/n) 802.11 device

Hi All,

I have a WN3000RP with latest version.

I have a strange behavior. When a device support "N" version only of 802.11 (for example, a raspberry PI 3), the network is invisible and the device cannot connect.

No problem at all with devices supporting b/g/n.

Do you know how to fix this ? I don't see any option interface to adjust this.

Thanks !

Regards.

  • Change the Pi to not use N-only mode.  It's incompatible with legacy b/g/n mode.

      Hi,

Thanks for your reply. My understanding is that this Raspberry PI is "N" only.

Do you see a repeater model at NetGear that would be compatible with this scenario ? I thought that buying this version which is B/G/N would be long term investment, but it seem that it is not the case ;-(

      Thanks !

      • Are you sure?  It's very odd for a Pi to be "N" only.

I don't think any Netgear repeater will work.  What might work is to use a router that supports DD-WRT and configure it to operate as a repeater.  DD-WRT supports "N" only modes.
