WN3500Rp channel designation
Hi again,
Have another quick question regarding the WM3500RP.
I noticed via iSSIDer that the 2.4 and 2.4EXT signals sit n the same channel (same with the 5G and 5GEXT). Is this affecting the overall performance of the unit as I've heard wifi signals on the same channel can interfere with each other.
Is there a way to put each signal on it's own channel?
Regards

- CddAspirantTo make a perfect wireless bridge you should have
1. SAME SSid (not as Netgear popups "For best performance, change SSID..."
2. Same Channel (logic as you don't want your tablet/phone hop channels (d/c-r/c))
3. same security setup (wpa2/AES) being best (tkip slower)
These 3 easy guidelines to follow should make it possible for you to skype/ovoo/viber without losing connection while "hopping" between AP's or router"
Now I noticed with Iphone 5 this is impossible, but I found out Iphone 5 has issues with AES ( https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4339516?start=510&tstart=0 )
Meanwhile, if I change my setup to a DD-WRT AP, and not using the WN3500RP , i am ABLE to do skype without loosing connection, so something is fishy in the WN3500RP.
So meanwhile, tell your opposite party to "hold" while your skype will try to reconnect ... very professional ... uche uche .. :p lol

You can actually try to download an app named WIFIANALIZER where you can see different networks running in a channel. In a way, you will be able to know which among the 3 suggested channels have lesser network running in, be in that channel and there you can have no interference.
