I'm at Wits End with the XR500 Nighthawk (Upload speed drop)
I want to love this router, I really do...However it leaves me with more headaches than it should. My Dad is on the verge of returning it.
I just started streaming through my PC not too long ago...after figuring out how to disable the smartconnect feature last night to enable a 5G connection (streaming thru xbox into PC with elgato device onto OBS), I was getting the best download/upload I've ever seen with this PC. I get 60-80 download...but the upload tonight is suddenly back down to 5-8mbps. I had to stop streaming to figure out how to fix this BS because every night this week has had some issue, usually with the router and the headache inducing features I have to learn about.
I would love some swift assistance in this matter considering I had 20mbps upload last night as soon as I connected to the 5g...now I have terrible upload. I need at least 10mbps-13mbps.
I have a feeling one of the responses will be, "Oh go talk to your ISP, etc. etc. etc." However, there must be something I can do here at home before contacting the ISP.
Thank you and I hope we can work together to solve my problem because I just want a smooth start to my streaming night after a long day of work...(no I cannot get it ethernet connected since it's across the house, please don't tell me I'm SOL because I had 20mbps last night)

EDIT/UPDATE:
Noteworthy issues, upon rebooting the router, I did not garner access to the internet until I hit the "Test" button in the "Internet Setup."
Not sure why this happens but it's infuriating since I only discovered that was the fix other than waiting for 30 minutes or longer for it to auto connect.
Another issue is that "Missing JSON response" now appeared after this reboot debacle...Trying to re-establish a connection.
---After 2 hours, restarting both modem and router...finally got full connection. I am at 1mbps for upload speed. Entirely at wits end. I can only hope by tomorrow evening after work that my upload will be returned to it's optimal speeds. Such a shame because if it is indeed the router and not Comcast, I will be trading it in. If it's mixed, I hope to resolve these issues with Comcast and with Netgear so I can enjoy the full potential.
Thank y'all for reading and putting up with my frustrations...It's been a nightmare this week between setting up streaming equipment and router/internet malfunctions.

Very odd you are getting such low speeds. Could you do this please:
- Go to QoS on the user interface. On Anti-Bufferbloat, click the three horizontal lines in the top left corner. This will expand Options. From there, could you check 'Disable QoS' and click Proceed at the warning message that appears
- Wire a PC or laptop into your router. Then go to speedtest.net - what speeds do you get on the test?
If your speeds are good, could you then repeat the test over wireless. My thinking is the problem is either with the WiFi, or a misconfigured setting in DumaOS. We'll be able to help you figure it out :smileyhappy:
