After power outage, I have been unable to setup IP cameras (Arlo Q) or Ring Chime on AC5000 router.

I have an X8 R8300 (AC5000) that has performed flawlessly however we had a recent power outage and I have tried on mutiple attempts on laptop and/or associated apps connected to the 2.4 band to reconnect my Arlo Q and Ring Chime with no success (states that the device(s) cannot be found). The AC5000 has been updated to the latest firmware. Also, I have noticed that on the Nighthawk app device manager, that although the connected devices are split between the bands there are no device names, just dashes. Any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Why do you think it's the router? I'd factory reset the cams if possible.

the automated update system is great at saying you're on the latest when you're not. what actual version are you on?

You can compare here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/r8300/#download

Power outages are great at corrupting things. I'd follow @microchip8 recommendation and start with resetting/reinstalling the cameras. If that doesn't work, you could try resetting the router.

The first, and simplest, move after power cuts is to ensure that the network starts in the right order.

Power cuts usually take out both the modem and the router on a network. When the power comes back on, things may start in the wrong order, with the router starting before the modem is ready, for example. That means that they get confused about which is in charge.

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

  • Turn off and unplug modem.
  • Turn off router and computers.
  • Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
  • Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
  • Turn on computers and rest of network.

Only then look into the more severe suggestion from @plemans and @microchip8.

It might also help if you said what modem/gateway/ONT sits between the R8300 and the Internet.
