How to remove Armor

How do I ger rid of this Armor crap? I can no longer use my paid VPN from years ago. This armor/bitfender crap shows my location, it's not secured. I did a factory reset and this crap came back, the stupid app activated last night when I saw the app got updated. Looks like I will be shopping for a new router today and never again Netgear, this was a waste of $300. I can only use my paid VPN on my PC since it's not connected to this Arnor crap. Ecxept I can't take my PC and make calls/text people while being out. After my miserable 30 day trial they want $70 yearly, but the VPN you get only has 200mb good luck with that.

Re: How to remove Armor

Armor itself is integrated into the firmware.

You can turn it off/disable it but to fully remove it, you'd have to install a firmware version prior to armor.

Re: How to remove Armor

Let's try resorting and decoding this post a little bit...

Both your computer and the mobile connect at home to your router, while the mobile on the road does make use of the mobile network.

Your router does in the first iteration just control the traffic from you home network to the outside world. So what impact has the Armor part on the router for connecting to the outside world? I'd say none... especially because you have not installed the Armor/BitDefender stuff on your Windows system.

The way I see this you talk of your mobile which has hit some limitations - potentially caused by the Armor App (based on BitDefender) installed on your mobile? Looks like the full BitDefender feature set is up now - including VPN.

No idea on how/why this should block your other whatever VPN - probably because of only one can be active at the same time on your mobile.

Wild non-educated guess: Start with uninstalling the Netgear Armor App on your phone - so there is no Armor, no BitDefender, no BitDefender VPN, ... and the problem is solved - completely independently of the router.

On it's own certinly not - probably only once you have enabled that BitDefender VPN client on the computer or mobile (no idea of it does on the router...).

That's not just for the BitDefender VPN service - it's for the complete Armor/BitDefender set an includes all your computers, mobiles, tablets, ... And when I have it right, it's a volume limit of 200 MB/day.
