Minecraft issues - Netgear Nighthawk AC1750

I’ve been unsuccessfully trying to run a Minecraft server on my Nighthawk router since I purchased it in early February and I figured I could ask for help here. I’m experienced in running Minecraft servers and I’ve properly forwarded port 25565 on the device that is running the server, the server is configured as it should be, and I’ve been properly using my external IP address when trying to connect/have people connect. It’s still not working and I’m not sure why. I have a modem (Arris CM3200) separate from my router if that helps
  • I fixed the problem. If anybody else sees this thread in the future, my issue was with Windows Defender firewall. Adding an exception for the server fixed my issue and everything is working as it should.

Thank you for being not only unhelpful, but unexpectedly rude.

R6700[v1], R6700v2, or R6700v3?  Look for "Model" on the product
    label.  Firmware version?

It's nice that you're happy, but your satisfaction has less value
than an accurate, detailed description of what you did.

    > [...] It's still not working [...]

"not working" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say
what you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
    descriptions or interpretations.

For the usual problems with port forwarding, see:

A simple modem.  Should be harmless.

      The router is R6700v3.

When I, or somebody not connected to my local network, tries to connect to my running server using my external IP address, I get the error “io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectionException: Connection timed out: no further information:”
