Hello guys, I'm having a hard time right now. I bought the NightHawk AC1900 R7000 to install a VPN on it. I installed the VPN showed in this video '' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVLQzsCxwgI '' and it worked for 3 months. Now I tried to uninstall it so I could come back to the factory settings but I didn't do it the good way since nothing is working anymore. I tried uninstalling it by upgrading the firmware on 192.162.0.1 DD-WRT setup page by installing an upgrade firware of NETGEAR (R7000-V1.0.7.2_1.1.93.chk) . After doing that, I wasn't able to go back on this website. Everytime I write 192.168.0.1 and try to enter it, it says it took to long to reach the page so it can't do it. When I try to change my router setting with the app Genie it won't let me since my router can't be found or is not supported. I tried a lot of thing I could found on internet but nothing worked. If you guys could help me it would be great! Thank you

That 192.168.0.20 looks wrong.
There are often problems coming back from dd-wrt to stock firmware and it's often difficult to find what you need to do on the dd-wrt forums.
The problem might be dd-wrt leaving conflicting NVRAM settings, you should have set the router back to factory defaults in dd-wrt before loading the firmware.
Even so the NVRAM settings can still conflict requiring they be erased before things will work properly.
I don't know if the Netgear tftp firmware update procedure will also erase NVRAM when the firmware is uploaded, a Netgear person will need to answer that one.
But if it does that could be a way to resolve the problem too.
You could try making sure no other devices are using DHCP assigned addresses by, perhaps, turning them off (so that there won't be a possible duplicate address).
But then the router appears to have an incorrect DHCP address range set so this might not be a problem at all, better to be safe though.
Then set your computer's address manually to one that is in the range 192.168.1.2-254, probably over 200 is better in case there ends up being a duplicate address on the network, as the higher addresses are less likely to be assigned by the DHCP server in the router.
For the subnet mask use 255.255.255.0 , as usual, and the gateway 192.168.1.1, and DNS 192.168.1.1, as it is in the above post.
If the router has an address of 192.168.1.1 (and it appears it does from the above post) then your computer with address 192.168.0.(anything) will not be able to communicate with the router or anything else in the 192.168.1 network. That's the point of setting the address manually.
Then try to connect to 192.168.1.1 in a browser and see if it works.

Re: NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported.
You were originally running DD-WRT firmware and you tried to revert back to stock firmware? If the update was successful, then try connecting at 192.168.1.1. That's the default address used by stock firmware.

Re: NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported.
Exactly, I tried going on this page too but it does the same thing. It can't load. I have no access to any pages that would help me download a new or older firmware

Re: NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported.
Do the lights on the router look normal?
When you plug a computer into one of the router's LAN ports, does it get an IP address? Did you try connecting to the default gateway address?
Did you try performing a factory reset?

Re: NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported.
Lights look normal.
If I connect a cable to one of my port (1-4) there's a orange light that goes on.
If you mean connecting to the default gateway address by opening share center then double clicking on IPV4 and entering 192,168,0,0 I did try but nothing worked maybe I did it wrong.
I did look up for many ways to do a factory reset but I couldn't find one that worked with me. If you have one in mind I would definitly try it.

That's not what I meant. If the router is operating normally, then when you connect a computer to one of the LAN ports, the router will provide an IP address to the computer, provided that you have set up the computer get an IP address dynamically. I'm assuming that how your computer is set up. If it isn't, then you should change it.
In addition to receiving an address from the router, the computer will also make note of the router's address. This address is known as the default gateway.
Now the question. Do you see a default gateway address on your computer?

Re: NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported.
Ok, it looks like your computer is successfully obtaining an IP address from the router and learning the default gateway. Now open a browser and enter 192.168.1.1. This should connect you to the router's website. What do you see?
I'll have to ask the obligatory question. Do you have Kaspersky installed? If you do, it can prevent you from logging in. The only fix I have known to work is to temporarily uninstall Kaspersky, then log into the router and reinstall Kaspersky.

Re: NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported.
Do you have any firewall at all?
If you do, try to turn it off.
Can you still communicate with the router by pinging that IP address in the command prompt?

For one thing to try, clear the Cache on the Browser. Another would be try a different browser.
Also, from the CMD prompt enter IPCONFIG /ALL and copy and paste the results into a reply. Should look like this:

Sure is...
It is possible that the PC is retaining the address it had when DD-WRT was installed. Did you re-boot the PC after going from DD-WRT to NG flash? If not, that could fix it. Otherwise try DISABLING the Network Adapter and ENABLING it. That might work.
Possible the PROPERTIES of the Network Adapter was SET to 192.168.0.20 too, if so, you need to change that to 192.168.1.20 and that too will fix it.
You could also go to DEVICE MANAGER and DELETE the NETWORK ADAPTER and then under ACTIONS SCAN FOR H/W changes, that should fix it as well.

Re: NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported.
I've gone from NG --> DD-WRT and DD-WRT --> NG a few times without problems. I've not seen this problem doing so, so I don't think that might be the problem. I'd suspect with the Router was set to 192.168.0.1 before manually or because of other devices causing it to use that IP Address or DD-WRT was set to that. Also possible the Network Adapter didn't sense a new IP Address for the router and never changed. That 192.168.0.20 is fairly high too so I suspect it was set manually. I set mine to 192.168.1.30 specifically so I'd know its IP Address if I needed to access it via IP Address (another PC is set to 192.168.1.40) and I set the first 19 addresses to be the limit to be handed out. Maybe the OP did something similar?

Re: NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported.
raven_au : Ok there was a big change here but it still won't work. I tried what you said and it brought me to the Netgear installation site. It told me to change the Wifi network name and put a password. Then they got me to put a password to my username : admin to get access to the 192.168.1.1 . After that they told me that some firware wasn't up to date so I downloaded it. When I tried to access to the 192.168.1.1 site it would now say that thw website is not accessable, 192.168.1.1 won't autorise connexion. Wich is different from before where they told me the connection was timed out. My router now has a Wifi Network with internet ON .
IrvSp : I will try what you are saying in a moment.

Re: NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported.
If I delete raven_au manuel adresses settings, the internet connection goes off.
IrvSp : If I go in properties it brings me back to raven_au settings in the local networks connexion settings. Is that what you meant? And I'm a bit scared of deleting the network adapter. I just want to be sure to know exactly how to do it so I don't destroy everything
