I have been trying for 2 days now to get any port (specifically 25565) to forward on my router with 0 luck whatsoever. The port is in use by my server, I can access it through ssh, see the port in use and can connect locally to the game server that it is running. However, I cannot connect to the server over the internet because this port just will not open up. I went through all of the steps in the advanced tab under port forwarding/triggering and got nothing to happen. I've done port forwarding many many times before, for some reason this model of router just does not want to forward any of the ports for me. Is there something I am missing here?
Is that accurate? Firmware version? Connected to what?

"cannot" is not a useful problem description. It does not say what you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual, showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations.
Not sure what happened to the screenshot. It was supposed to be of my port forwarding settings.
And yes, that is my router, Firmware v1.0.2.68.
The only "errors" I am getting are that when I attempt to connect to the server over the internet it times out. When I test to see if the ports are open anywhere it says that they are still closed despite the server being open and running on that port.
From the game client on another computer. I can connect via LAN, but not from another computer that is not attached to the same network.

Using port checking websites to verify that they have been opened correctly.

An old PC that I am using as a server. It worked fine as a file and web server. It's now being used as a game server for my son to play Minecraft with his friends, but is only working on LAN, his friends cannot connect over the internet to play with him. I've tried remotely using the static IP that was set up as well.

Yea, that didn't really help either. Not really sure why this is so difficult. Just trying to forward a port and make sure it opens. I've done this a bunch of times over the years and never had an issue with it until I bought this router.

And its WAN/Internet port?

What, exactly, "didn't really help"? (Other than that answer, of course.)

Which part of "actual" was unclear?

One reason might be that the non-psychics in your audience can't see what you're doing, and what happens when you do it. Another reason might be that you seem unable to answer basic questions in a useful way.

Sadly, I have no better idea of what you did before than I have of what you're doing now.
