50% slower internet speed (wired)

Hi, I'm have Netgear Nighthalk x6s Ac4000 tribanf Wifi Router,Newest firmware possible V1.4.1.50_1.3.10.

I have the nighthalk in router mode, also have an IP passthough on the router as well, but some reason when i hardwire my computer to the Netgear i'm getting about 50% slower then hardwiring directly to my internet provider modem. Speedtest directly to internt provided modem is around 950mbps down and 500mbps up. As soon as i connect the Negear the highest i recieved was 420mbps down and 233mbps up. I changed path cables, disconnected all other ethernet devices, turned off QoS, turned off Access control and reset the router to default. Any ideals?

You can play more with passthrough mode or even putting the netgear in the att's router dmz.

But if the netgear is getting 100% speed in access point, its the issue of running 2 routers in router mode on the network.

What gateway is it connected to?

Have you tried leaving the gateway in regular router mode and putting the netgear in access point mode?

It's a new Att fiber only gateway bgw320, may have been released 2 weeks ago, same issue with the other equimpent bgw210 as well. I have never tried AP mode. However I've tried leaving the gateway in router mode and when i connect directly to the gateway i get 100% of the speed.

Att gateway's are notorious for being a PITA to get working properly in passthrough modem only mode.

If it works fine in router mode, try the netgear in access point mode.
