No 5ghz SSID when setting 160mhz channel - RAX50v2

Just opened the box and setup RAX50v2  with Firmware Version V1.1.3.18_2.1.14.  

On setup no 5Ghz wifi was showing up.  I changed the channel size down to 80mhz and it works like a charm.  Back to 160mhz, no 5Ghz SSID.

Is this the expected behavior if I'm near radar (I live right near an airport in the USA), or is the router defective?

Most likely a radar issue. The router constantly scans for it when using a DFS channel

Try changing the channel to the lower 5ghz channels when you have it set to 160hz. See if that helps. 

Are you using smart connect.

Not using smart connect.

I moved it all the way down to channel 36, no change in behavior.

Did you check if its set to the proper region?

Yes, set to United States.

You might have radar in the area thats causing it. Wouldn't be the first time that someone had unknown radar/weather radar in the area
