My ISP modem is working.
What is that modem? Make and model?
..but internet over wi-fi keeps dropping.
Bit more detail please. Can devices see the wifi? What actually happens?
Have you rebooted the router?
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Orbi - NETGEAR Communities
You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Re: RBR40 wired internet working but wi-fi internet not
You missed the question about the modem in front of the router.
What connects the RBR40 to the Internet?

Cable modem from ISP hardwired direct to the RBR40.
Please read and reply to the questions.

Your answer can narrow down the issue and rule out various possibilities.
There are hundreds of modems out there that ISPs can provide.

Sorry...Arris model TM1602A
OK. That is a standard cable modem with voice. It does not have a combined router component to get in the way of the RBR40.
The next question is about the firmware on the router. What is it? The firmware number is the only reliable guide.
You also need to check that it is the router that causes the wifi glitches rather than the wifi clients. Do they all fail? What are they? Anything from Apple in there?
NETGEAR Mobile Applications and Apple Devices FAQ - NETGEAR Communities
Any evidence of local wifi interference from the neighbours? If they have installed a new router, that could broadcast clashing signals and could explain why it started playing up recently.
If you have satellites on the Orbi network, do they all have problems?

Re: RBR40 wired internet working but wi-fi internet not
When the wifi internet drops intermittently everything loses internet - Apple iPhones, Alexa, TV, laptops, Xbox, etc. All devices still see the wifi network but there is no internet connection. When this happens I still have internet on hardwired devices, so I ruled out the ISP modem.
No evidence of interference.
I do have two satellites. They stay on the network, but again no internet.
