RBR50 Router Playing Dead?

Our Orbi RBR50 router stopped making a wifi network and the two satelites connected to it won't sync.  I've done a number of things based on feedback in this community and other research.  Currently, if I do a factory reset on the orbi (hold the reset button while turning power on for the router, waiting for red lights then green and releasing the reset button), I can go through the Orbi app on an iphone and get to a point where the app asks me to join an Orbi11 network.  I say ok but I get an "Unable to join the network 'ORBI11'"  I check the wifi networks in phone settings and I find a NETGEAR75 network and try to join that and it immediately says incorrect password and lets me try a password again.  I've tried the password on the bottom of the router (the one that should be for Orbi11) and that doesn't work and I've tried a few other passwords that could possibly be the default.

I've also tried to plug a laptop directly into the orbi when it's in this state but I can't get the orbi to respond to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.0.1...

Eventually, I've found that the orbi will show a solid magenta light (top ring) if left long enough.

I'm not sure what else to try.  I've tried to power on the orbi with just a laptop plugged into it so I could just get into the admin/config system but it never seems to respond to the usual IP addresses (above).

Anyone have any thoughts?

This not a Factory Reset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMw4ePACgc4

While the Orbi is powered on, hold the reset button (more of a tiny hole actually) until the Power LED turns amber and then begins to flash. This can take 10 seconds or more. Then release the reset.

When the Orbi completes powering up (about 2.5 minutes), the WiFi SSID/password should be what is printed on the product label.

(and it will never be "NETGEAR".  That is almost certainly a neighbor's WiFi network.)

Thanks for the reply.  Right now, when I power on the rbr50, the power light turns green and the top ring flashes white.  After a minute or so, the power light flashes red five times and then turns green and the top ring continues to flash white.  During this process, I can hold the reset button down for over a minute and nothing happens.

I should also note that no network is ever presented from the orbi during this process either.  If I hold reset and power on and let it boot that way, I can sometimes get it to present a network through the iPhone app but I haven't had any luck actually getting onto that network or even having it presented for more than a few minutes before it also seems to disapear.
