RBR50 setup-no internet connection or connection error

My system was working fine but due to password reset not working, I did a hard reset to go through set up again.  During setup, it tells me the cables are connected but doesn't detect internet.  Have rebooted the router numerous times.  While trying to detect, if i turned Orbi on then off, it would detect internet.  But then when it got to set up and asks for my new network name and password, it would say "connection error" and would not finish setup.

Have you reset the router and connected a wired PC to the router and walk thru the setup wizard after it's connected to your ISP modem?

What FW is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the IP modem the Orbi is connected too?

Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, LAN to LAN and configure AP mode on the Orbi router.
