Router RBR50 with 1MB wifi, Satellite 400MB
Hello,
I have 1 router and 2 satellites RB50, last firmware. Backhaul using wifi.
The router is in AP mode, connected to a router/firewall.
Router Speed test shows 892Mb.
Speedtest from my computer connected to the router wifi is about 1Mb sometimes up to 10.
Same computer connected to Satellites gives 400+Mb.
Any idea, out of the router is dead and need to buy a new one (which means buy a set...)?
Thanks
Ok seems I found the issue and as Mstrbig said, it can indeed be many things and never as simple as it's an Orbi issue.
The issue seems to be due to a Samsung soundbar, which is connected to wifi through the router.
The overall Samsung wifi connect and App are crap and not working very well. The App lose the connection to the soundbar quite easily. Last time I tried to re-connect the App to the bar it failed several times and I gave up, which was a mistake. Each time the Soundbar is on, it probably tries to connect to something and kills the wifi on the router.
That's where, having better log, on AP mode, than "admin login at xxx" would be definitely helpful.
I've completely removed the bar from the wifi network and so far back to 500+Mb. I'll see how it goes.

Is PC wire or wireless connected to RBR?
Try a different PC with RBR and test to compare.
Try different port on back of RBR.
Make sure your RBR is connected to the main host router using the yellow WAN Port, not a LAN port.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Hello,
The issue is not when wired-connected to the back ports. These work like a charm. Apple TV is connected to one of the back port and deliver proper 4K. The speed test from the router menu itself delivers 800Mb.
The problem is with any device connected to the router through wifi and wifi only. It can be computers or phones.
Yes full reset was done after last upgrade and at that time I got normal speed above 500Mb. But then it slows down to reach the worst today at 1Mb. It never happens to the 2 satellites, only with the wifi part of the router.
Today after several reboots I eventually got back 600Mb using the wifi. So the good news is the router can work. The bad news is something slow it down over time. No clue what for now.

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-routerWhat channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
