Link up but no MAC

A couple ports show as Up but no MAC to go with it.

Port Configuration shows them as Link Up

and the Port Statistics shows packets transmitted without error, more with each refresh so a live connection

but the address table shows no MAC for that port.

Now these ports show no rcvd packets so maybe that's the thing but it's surprising that there's anyway for a link to be "up", much less have packets going any direction on it, but the switch not have a MAC for it. What am I missing? Thanks.

    Tcantech,

    Welcome to our community! :)

You may need to go to the MAC address table in order for you to see the MAC address of each port. Select Switching > Address Table > Basic > Address Table. Have you tried to do a factory reset? Please also try upgrading the firmware to its latest version. You may download the firmware here.

Of course the address table is where I was seeing that there was no MAC for these Link Up ports. I have about a dozen ports showing Link Up. Most of those show up in the MAC address table. Some show up a couple of times if they go to multiple devices. But a couple of the ports showing as Link Up don't show in the address table at all. Yes, I've set it to Show All. One port has only ever had traffic as Packets Transmitted (in Port Statistics) but the other has had both Packets Transmitted and Packets Received (all without errors). How can that possibly be if the switch doesn't know the MAC? Is this an error of the display of the address table? Or something else?

        Tcantech,

May I know what firmware version are you running on your switch? We may need to check if this is some kind of a bug on your firmware.

        Regards,
