MS510txm slow down - bringing the whole network down
I purchased aMS510TXM switch to connect my Synology NAS1821+ to it's 10G connection as well as my Mac studio for video editing purposes, a few times the switch would slow down the network ( file transfers , NAS web interface connection, etc... ) and then just stops working bringing the NAS completely offline, in order for it to work properly i had to power cycle the switch, now i have to do that multiple times every other day, FYI: i didn't really change anything in the default settings
Can you please help ?
thanks
Philippe

Re: MS510txm slow down - bringing the whole network down
Salut Philippe,
Not much to see from the performance test you provided, side that it does seem to work slow, and might require second boot why ever.
Current firmware in place? https://kb.netgear.com/000065157/MS510TXM-MS510TXUP-Firmware-Version-1-0-5-10
Start troubleshooting from looking at the logs . Monitoring -> Logs -> Memory Log
Let the switch do a Cable Test, on all links, too. Monitoring -> Cable Test
During the issue/slowdown:
What shows the Monitoring -> Port Statistics?
What show the active Monitoring -> Port Detailed Statistics ... select all active ports and copy-paste the details, like the two examples. Select the list from the Web UI, paste as plain text.
Tell us more on how the switch is connected, what 10G Ethernet is active on the Mac, ...

Re: MS510txm slow down - bringing the whole network down
Have you tried disabling the Mac Studio - Ethernet port and re-enabling it?
I have a similar setup plus a Wifi AP connected to the switch, and I find that the Mac Studio ethernet is unreliable. When transferring files, - I find the computer using the Wifi 80% of the time vs the ethernet. As the AP is connected to the same switch - without any issues - I simply suspect the ethernet port is the issue. I'm yet to be bothered enough to try dock ethernet instead.
