XS708T Firmware 6.6.3.5 update error
Hey guys,
Im getting the following error message trying to upgrate My XS708T firmware to 6.6.3.5.
"Error! File name cannot include the symbols: \/:*?"<>;| and maximum length is 32".
This is the filename (how it comes straight from the download folder) "XS708T_XS712Tv2_XS716T_V6.6.3.5.stk"
Can I just rename this file ? I already bricked one switch with a previous firmware update and dont want to repeat my mistakes.
Thank you kindly.
D.
Web based upload, or Smart Control Center (SCC) firmware upload?
What is the current firmware version actually operating on the switch?
Have spotted there are some intermediate firmware requrements for the install of 6.6.3.5 - and it might be required using the Smart Control Center (SCC) for that update? https://kb.netgear.com/000060568/XS708T-XS712Tv2-XS716T-Firmware-Version-6-6-3-5

O Man,
Thanks for the reply,
I missed the line saying in need to go to 6.6.1.7 first, I'm still on 6.6.0.11.
Regardles if I do first upgrade to 6.6.1.7 how am I supposed to upgrade to 6.6.3.5? I can not find a Mac version of SCC and I don't have any windows machine.
Thx

Start with the update to 6.6.1.7 -> https://kb.netgear.com/000038683/XS708T-XS716T-Firmware-Version-6-6-1-7
"Make sure the firmware version of your XS708T/XS716T is v6.6.1.7 before updating it to v6.6.3.5.
Otherwise, download the v6.6.1.7 image first and follow the firmware update procedure in its release notes. The Smart Control Center (SCC) tool is required to update firmware from v6.6.1.7 to v.6.6.3.5."
Afraid, no idea on how to overcome this SCC requirement - let's see what Netgear will suggest. LaurentMa that's another strange shortcoming - Windows can't be the center of the universe.
