how do i turn off power saving? i dont want it, or need it.

shouldnt it at least get their names correctly?
any help appreciated.

My PL1200's often cut out right in the middle of using them - e.g., while watching a video or playing an online game.
Some others have noted that their connection starts working again after a few minutes, but mine does not ... I have to unplug the local node and plug it back in or I will sit there connectionless forever. I don't know whether it's power save being erroneously activated or just something going bananas - the status lights all remain green but there is no connection.
I set up a periodic task to ping my router through the PL connection to prevent power save. Sometimes this keeps the connection up for days - other times the connection fails multiple times in a day.
There are complaints about the 1200's going back over a year now - I wish I had seen them before I bought the units. When are we going to see fixes for these problems?

You can use Zyxel powerline software to turn off standby (sleep) mode. Have no idea why Netgear haven't implemented this themselves in their software. They usually work perfectly well after this.
Software version that I have used (and works) is 7.0.2.14.0611
ftp://ftp.zyxel.fr/ftp_download/PLA5405/software/PLA5405_V7.0.2.14.0611.zip
Once you've installed and run the software, click on Advanced, then select your powerline adapter.
You will then be able to turn standby mode off:
Hope this helps

Hi,
Yes, I found Zyxel's software in a Google search. I tried disabling sleep, and the configurator shows it disabled for both units ... but it doesn't make any difference. I created a task to ping across the connection every couple of minutes to keep it alive. That hasn't helped either
The units disconnect a couple times a day ... while I am using them !! I wouldn't care if they sleep when I'm not.
They aren't overheating - at least not noticably, they are cool to touch. I have no idea why this is happening. I replaced a pair of av200, which still work, but are much slower. I don't want to go backwards.
