Powerline XAV5601 Firmware request
Hello,
I have 5 XAV5601 Powerline Adapters that don't work really good.
Many times it happens that my connection brakes.
So I looked with "Netgear Powerline Utility" and tried to Update the Firmware... but no way with this Tool.
But... I could see which Firmware is currently installed on the Adapters.
All v0.2.0.6CE except one with v0.2.0.7CE. So at least for the 4 devices there must be a firmwareupdate.
My problem is that I don't find a Utility to Update the Firmware.
Could anyone please help me to update the Firmware?
In the FAQs:
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20937/~/xav5601-faqs
you can read:
Why do I need to always have the latest firmware on my NETGEAR product?
Having the latest firmware will help increase the stability, functionality and performance of your product. The new and most up-to-date firmware will likely correct issues as well as potentially add new and improved features to the product.
But why is Netgear not giving it to me the easy way?
I think I paid a lot of money and now I am siitting here and hope someone can help... . That's not what I expect from a company like Netgear.
Anyway... hope you guys will help.
Thx.
Stefan

Hi sp3cn4z,
Welcome to Community!
This type of powerline adapters are using the stock firmwares and no firmwares available in support site. The firmware loaded depens on the manufactured date that is why they do not have the same firmware version. There are some powerline model that has an option to update firwmare using the powerline utility.

I have the same issue as many of us : the adapter keeps doing a soft reboot every 10min
I have 2 of these adapters, same issue.
When I replace the adaptapers, on the same power socket (I've tried other socket also), with one of Devolo AV500+ or Netgear XAV5501, no issue at all.
Is there away to fix this issue ?
Thanks
