ReadyNAS 102 + rtorrent + rutorrent
Hi,
I have a Netgear ReadyNAS 102 with debian ARM.
I am following these instructions to install rtorrent + rutorrent...
http://blog.rebootr.nl/rtorrent-rutorrent-netgear-readynas-102/
The NAS has Firmware 6.2.5. I am logging in root using PuTTY from Win10.
I have a drama when I get to Step seven: test rtorrent.
I'm getting the following...
/usr/bin/rtorrent: 1: /usr/bin/rtorrent: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")")
What's the syntax error mean? How can I resolve this?
In any case, if I just run rtorrent using
root@nas:/# rtorrent
rotrrent launches, but I get...
Using 'epoll' based polling
Using 'epoll' based polling
Using 'epoll' based polling
Could not read resource file: ~/.rtorrent.rc
What does 'epoll' based polling mean?
If I drop the .rtorrent.rc file created from Step five to /root/rtorrent I don't get that resource file issue.
But now when rtorrent launches, I still get the 'epoll' thing and also this...
The SCGI socket is bound to a specific network device yet may still pose a security risk, consider using 'scgi_local'
What does this mean? How do I resolve?
I tried these steps once before, ignored issues, kept on going and it went completely pair shaped. Had to factory reset the NAS, stuffed that up and lost a lot of data Oh well, these things happen.
Anyway, if I can over the original hurdle of the Syntax error, I may still have questions when I get further on. But... one step at a time.
Cheers,
daarsk

Hello daarsk,
The blog URL is no longer available.
PM WhoCares_ about this add-on availability on OS6, it appears there is none released yet but it is best to check with him.
