SMB Backup strategy recommendations?
Hi all,
I have set up 2 readynas units (one for office and one for offsite). It is running well with my current backup software which is Yosemite Server backup. It allows me to store different daily backups in different folders on the NAS.
However, I am unsure what the optimal backup strategy is. I have it set to full backup Monday PM, the rest of the week incremental. This works and syncs over to the offsite nas just fine. (currently, both units are on site so they can do their initial syncs)
But I am wondering what others are using for their backup strategies? Also, if I do a Full Monday backup set to Overwrite media when it syncs to the offsite nas, does it resync everything or only the changed blocks since the prior Monday?
