Using a SATA BUS to copy files instead network
Hi guys, i'm new in this forum. I finally set up my ReadyNas Duo 2000, it has a Samsung 1TB, 4.1.7 Raidiator, and for now, seems all going well. I just have a question. Before purchasing the NAS i obviously did a backup of all my stuff, on another hard disk, then i inserted the 1TB samsung one into the NAS, for first installation. Now, I have something like 250GB data to move in the samsung HD, but i know for sure, it will take a lot of time using the LAN.I would consider myself lucky if should obtain a speed of 6-7 MB/s, so i wanna ask to the community: Can i extract the 1TB samsung HDD from the nas, plug it to a PC with UBUNTU 10,4, and use the SATA bus to have a reasonable transfert rate? Can it cause any issues, especially when i will reconnect the HDD to the ReadyNas?
Sorry for my english, thanks in advance for the reply(replies is better  )
Cheers

- no.
either restore your data from plug external drive into nas USB port (slow)
or plug external drive into PC usb and xfer over network (somewhat faster) - emoachtAspirantHi, m@nus
Even just read a disk pulled out from Duo by other PC will be long story.

So, write? No kidding. I think it would be the answer.
