AXE3000 Nighthawk USB Adapter frequent intermittent disconnects

Have gigabit internet through Comcast. Purchased a Netgear CAX30 nighthawk router and was getting 200-300Mb with a "generic" AX adapter. I picked up the AXE3000 and was getting great speeds upwards of 600-800Mb.
The problem is that the adapter will seem to frequently lose connection to the router intermittently. In most cases, I have to turn the adapter off and back on via the adapter options in Windows 11 to get it to talk again.
Running constant pings to 8.8.8.8 and 192.168.1.1 (the router) will show Request Timed Out AND intermittently switches to my computers local IP as the pinged address (assuming it's because it can't find the gateway I'm pinging
Reply from 192.168.1.5 Destination Host Unreachable.
Here's what I've tried so far. Different USB ports, removing the included USB Dock and plugging directly into the USB ports, checking for firmware/drivers for my adapter AND USB chipset (none available), updating BIOS, disabling power saving on the adapter, checking for windows 11 updates, disabling onboard ethernet, updating firmware on my router, uninstalling/reinstalling drivers (no newer drivers other than release).
I know it's related to the adapter, because when I plug in my old, slower adapter, the problem does not occur. When I ping my router from other computers in the house, they get proper ping responses while my AXE3000 is having it's fit. I've cleared network sockets, flushed and refreshed DNS, tried custom DNS (8.8.8.8 as a secondary)
Any idea if I'm missing something? MSI Z690 motherboard.if that makes a different. All drivers across my entire system are fully updated.

I am having ann issue. I’m using a gigabit connection from Spectrum and a WiFi 6E Router. The distance between the router and the AXE3000 adapter (connected to my desktop) is about 10 feet. It’s also plugged into a USB 3.2 port. I average about 600 MB/s speed. The manual says that on a 6Ghz band the speed should be faster than I’m getting. I’ve also tried changing the USB ports and nothing has made it better. I’m just starting to think that the bandwidth for USB is unable to provide the speed the adapter is advertised as.

Bandiwdth should be upwards of 5Gbit, so it SHOULD get max speed. I have found that being too close (within 5 feet) is bad and the antenna is VERY directional.
If I point the flat area of the antenna to a direct line of where my router is, I get the best connection with the least amount of packet loss. unfortunately, it's STILL not better quality than my generic AX6 adapter, which while I gets slower speeds, has a solid connection to the router.

Adjust the antenna so the flat part points to where your router is. Mine is literally 5 feet straight up. Once I did that it became more stable. Not perfect, but MUCH better than it was.

Do you have one network name covering both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz?
I wonder if it will help to separate the xfinity wifi network into 2.4 and 5 rather than how comcast/xfinity set it up, which is to have one to cover both and allow it to automatically find the best. I have one PC near the router where 2.4 works well. The PC I purchased this adapter for is downstairs, so 5.0 would be better. ?
