gs305

So I have a close 1ft connection between a different switch and my router. From that switch, ( not the 305) I then go about 75 ft to the 305. The connection on the Netgear is green from this cable. However none of the outputs on the Netgear work. So I brought the unit closer to my router, this time coming into the 305 from a shorter distance 10 ft but still coming from the switch located next to my router. ( My router does not have many outputs) and it works fine. I don't understand what is happening because 75 ft should not be a problem and the 305 does see the signal but will not pass it on. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

To further isolate the problem, kindly try to connect the GS305 directly to the router.  Then, connect a PC directly to the GS305,  Check if the PC will obtain a valid local IP address and check if you will be able to get replies when you ping the IP address of the router and any website such as google.com.  Observe the behavior of the port LED lights of the GS305 and try also using other LAN ports.
