GS305 power plug size
Hi,
I recently acquired a GS305v3 switch and I was looking into powering it using a USB port on my custom-build NAS or my desktop PC, since it only requires 5V and less than an Amp for power. This is why I need to know the exact size of the DC plug used so I can order a compatible USB to DC plug cable.
I know that a similar post already exist in this forum, the one made by brkorb, but he never mentioned what plug size he or she used in the end, just that he/she powered it using a 4.5V adapter.
So my question is: does anyone in the community or from Netgear staff knows the dimensions of the barrel plug used in the GS305v3 switch ?
Best Regards,
MrPOC.
Hello back,
For anyone wondering, the power plug seems to be a 5.5x2.5mm barrel plug with Tuning Fork (not that this last part matter much apparently).
Also, although the specs on the device require 5V 0.7A, it has been running fine out of a random USB (5V 0.5A I guess) port on my NAS (Asrock Rack MB) with 3 devices connected for one or two weeks at least.
Best Regards,
Pierre-Olivier Claude.
