CPU fan Fail

Hi,

So I've got an old ReadyNAS NV+ V2. Its been running like a dream until a few days ago.

Ive got an alarm on it saying that the CPU fan has failed. The fan is working but its running at 100% and is very loud.

I pulled the unit apart and plugged in a new fan that i know works/reports correctly. But its still showing failed.

Im thinking that its a firmware issue? But im no expert. Im hoping that one can help me though.

Thanks,

    Which firmware are you running?

It's possible the problem is with the sensor not the fan or the new fan wasn't connected correctly or is incompatible. Or maybe the failed fan status needs manually clearing.

Have you tried clearing your web browser cache, closing your web browser then reopening the web admin interface to see if it's any different?

What do you see for the fan in RAIDar?

Have you got a backup of your data?

You could perhaps try an OS re-install or maybe even a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything).
