  • Did you ever get a solution? Which firmware are you using?

I had MC installed for many years up until firmware 4.2.26. I changed my RAID configuration yesterday and upgraded to 4.2.27 and now I cannot install MC, giving me the same exact error it is giving you.

OK, I just figured this out.

You need to have the correct depositories in your sources.list file.

Go and edit the /etc/apt/sources.list by saying:

      vi /etc/apt/sources.list

and uncomment "deb http://archive.debian.org/debian etch main"

      and then do the below:

      apt-get update

      apt-get install -f
      apt-get install mc

that should take care of it.
