Destination folder - Access denied OS6 Beta 5 from WIN7

I am getting frustrated with obstacles that are preventing me from copying files between shares. I am getting "Destination folder access denied" regardless of the permissions set for that share. I have tried resetting the permissions and various username / password combinations. The User Accounts on the PC is showing the main user's name and password. The other problem this is causing is syncing Apple devices. The photo cache is locked and the sync is unable to write to it, so sync is failing.

I just don't want any of these restrictions. I have two or three computers and two Readynas on the LAN and I want to be able to do whatever I wish. I have read and re-read the software manual, but it is far too complex and involved, when I feel that these access rights should be full control from everywhere by default.

Is there some simple method to tell it that I am in control and that's how it should stay?

On one of my shares, I have attempted to reset permissions again, but now it will not allow me to do that. I get an error box with "Cannot set file access, please check that specified user/group exists".

EDIT.. The NAS has now crashed and needed a power off restart.

  • Although I am a Newbie to ReadyNAS, I have been copying stuff from my Win 7 to ReadyNAS for a few weeks and well aware that there are potential problems.
What process are you using to copy?
    Which protocol?
Are you pushing from Win 7 or pulling from the ReadyNAS?
