FTP access via iPad2
Hi guys,
I use my ReadyNAS at to store all of my files, and I like to have access to them remotely.
At work, I have set up the ReadyNAS as an additional network location, with the ReadyNAS acting as an ftp server...apparently! This was on the advice of our external IT guy who I trust fully.
Now that I have an iPad, I would like to be able to do the same on the iPad and thought I could just go to the web browser and type in the ftp address I wanted to access and that would be that. However, whenever I open the Safari browser and type in the ftp address, instead of being prompted for a user name and password (as I do when using PC-based browsers such as Firefox or IE), I just get a message saying No Permission. You do not have permission to view "/"
Apple say it's probably the ReadyNAS recognising a mobile browser and not liking it - either it cannot handle it or it needs to be configured to handle such browsers.
Anyone else have similar problems, or know of any configuration settings?
I don't want to use ReadyNAS Remote for security reasons, which is why I had the ftp connection set up at work. The ftp connection from my office desktop works fine so the ReadyNAS is configured for ftp connections...
I am not a great techie, though I am a competent end-user and have set up my home network myself, so please try to avoid getting too technical :)
Thanks in advance.

- ReefergeezerAspirantA quick update (as well as a *bump*)
I checked my router log files yesterday while trying to access the ReadyNAS via ftp, and the router was logging the incoming connection and saying there was a rule match, indicating the problem is with the ReadyNAS rather than the iPad...
Please help... !
:? - ReefergeezerAspirantOK, just to close this off in case anyone reads it in future, apparently Mobile Safari seems to be the issue, I think.
I've decided to use a third-party app called FileBrowser and used a port-forward rule to access the ReadyNAS when out and about - works well so far...! :D
