I can't map network drive in Windows 10 home

I have a readyNAS duo that I can't map in windows 10, limits the functionality of drag and drop file storage. I can FTP into the NAS from the computer. The Windows File Explorer sees the drive in the Network but clicking on it opens the admin web page for the ReadyNAS.
I have tried to add the LSA compatability in the registy and stopped using a PIN in favor of password to sign on to windows.
This is really annoying.

Hi erimol,
Do you have another computer to test if the CIFS protocol or service is working fine? Also, check if disabling and re-enabling CIFS protocol in the admin page would help.
Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards,

Re: I can't map network drive in Windows 10 home
Hello erimol,
Welcome to the community!
We apologize for this experience. May we ask what firmware version you are using?
This is basically an SMB adjustment on Win10.
Here is also a discussion about the same problem where other users were ablet to find resolution: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/File-sharing-WINDOWS-10-ReadyNAS-no-longer-conn...

What happens if you enter \\nasname\sharename in the file explorere address bar (be careful on the direction of the slashes)?

Re: I can't map network drive in Windows 10 home
Firmware: | [1.00a043] |
If I try and map the network drive using the \\xxxxxxx\yyyyyy format I get a Cannot be found, network error 0x800700735 the network path was not found.
I know it is on the network and windows can see the box because it the icon shows up for it in the file explorer under both Storage and Media Devices. When you select the icon under media device it opens a web page for frontview, the icon for Storage returns an error code similar to above.

4.1.10 is the format we usually use. Relatively old, you might want to update it to 4.1.14 (or even 4.1.15-T3 beta). The beta is stable, Netgear really should just release it.

Did you try both the IP address and the Name?
Also, did you check that the PC workgroup is the same as the Duo's?

Re: I can't map network drive in Windows 10 home
What happens if you open CMD and enter
net use * /delete
net use t: \\192.168.1.13\C /user:admin adminpassword
where adminpassword is the NAS admin password.
The expected behavior would be to mount the NAS C volume as drive letter t.

Re: I can't map network drive in Windows 10 home
Try going into the windows control panel, and select "programs and features" followed by "turn windows features on or off".
You should see a checkbox for "SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support". If it isn't checked, then check it. I think you will need admin privileges for this btw.

Re: I can't map network drive in Windows 10 home
YAHTZEE! I disabled CIFS reboot. Enable CIFS reboot. and the NetgearNAS showed in the network area of File explorer. I also successfully mapped the shares as individual network drives.
Thanks! winner, winner, chicken dinner.
